Reta Jung

I wanted to put a note up about the passing of our own dear Reta Jung. Here is her obituary as posted on Lockhart’s website:

Reta Jung, 87, formerly of Monkton passed away peacefully after a five year battle with Alzheimers, at the Mitchell Nursing Home on Friday, February 12, 2021.

Beloved wife of Fred Jung and the late Henry Geyer (1974). Dear mother of Judy Shiell (Bob), Peggy Scholl (Doug), Darlene O’Reilly (Todd), Cindy Clark (Jim), Gary Geyer, Carol Groenestege (Gerald), Kevin Geyer (Patricia), Susan Jung and Bob Jung (Gina).

She will be missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild.

Dear sister of Roy Finck (Karen) and Lorne Finck (Beatrice). Dear sister-in-law of Anna Kreutzweiser. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Andrew and Laura Finck, sisters Viola Fleischauer (Clarence), Beatrice Fleischauer (Elmer), Ruby Greve (Wilfred) and brother Albert Fink (June).

Reta was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Monkton, serving on the LWML as President and catering many community suppers where her cabbage rolls were a hit! She enjoyed gardening, cooking and attending family gatherings.
