What is confirmation?

Confirmation or catechesis is a training process where we teach youth (grades 6-8) and adults what it means to be not only Christian, but Lutheran. It is a requirement for those who wish to partake of the Lord’s Supper and take up official duties within the church.

Confirmation uses the Small Catechism, written by Martin Luther in 1529 for the training of youth in the church. For almost 500 years this tool has been used as a robust, scripture based “Manual of Christianity”. For more information, contact the church and speak with the pastor.
